It’s a beautiful day to ride the bus. It’s great seeing CAT members out early helping riders. The car isn’t moving from it’s parking place today as I’ll run my errands via LANTA.

I like using the bus as an aid to bicycling. I like the easy way the Bike racks work and that they are on all the buses. Today I took the B bus out to Emrick road to get me to the Rte 33 shops, then enjoyed a ride back into town.

Riding the bus is a good idea and actually much more enjoyable thank driving alone, but LANTA needs to make bus travel much more convenient. I needed to go from downtown Bethlehem to Radio Shack on Union Boulevard. I decided to take the G bus. I caught the 12:20 bus at Guetter. In 15 minutes I was at Radio Shack. At this point, I'm thinking this is the way to go. Unfortunately, the return bus didn't pick me up until 1:45. I was back at Guetter at 2:00. It took an hour and forty minutes to accomplish an errand that might have taken less than 30 minutes by car. I'm willing to make some sacrifice, but "Choice Riders" aren't going to trade that amount of time to support bus ridership. LANTA needs to make bus riding more convenient if they want to attract these "choice riders".

I rode a LANTA bus for the first time on Try Transit Day 11/30. A CAT volunteer "Bus Buddy" helped me figure out the schedules and stops. I got to chat with the mayor of Bethlehem on the bus! It was a much more pleasant experience than I was expecting.

I would use the bus instead of my car for some errands or to take my bicycle to ride farther from home. Unfortunately, the bus does not run in my neighborhood (just south of South Mountain on Rt. 378).

It was great using the bus on Friday November 30th. The bus is a great alternative to driving especially to the Westgate Mall. This brought back alot of memories for me when I was younger and couldn't drive. I would recommend bus transportation to anyone.
